I realized this week that I’m not losing my mind. Well, at least when it comes to driving.
Since buying the little Audi, I’ve felt that strange things were happening to me while driving the car, but I’ve just written them off as my own crazy creeping in. It appears that my car is smarter than I am — It has automatic windshield wipers that come on when they sense water on the windshield. It has automatic temperature regulation. I’m sure that there are hundreds of other nice features in the car that I’ll never know about because it just doesn’t make sense to read the owner’s manual. It’s so long and so technical and in too many languages. That’s distracting.
So for a couple months I’ve been driving around asking myself, “Did I just turn those windshield wipers on?” “Did I just raise the temperature in here?” It’s not unlike me to go through a day just “going through the motions” and not recall bathing, driving or brushing my teeth. Putting on deodorant.
